Dornier MedTech Announces Distribution Agreement with Edge Medical to Offer Multi-Port Robotic Surgery System MP1000 for Urological Surgeries in Spain and Portugal

Madrid, 21 March 2025 – Dornier MedTech (Dornier), a global leader in urological medical devices, today announced a distribution agreement with Edge Medical, a pioneering developer of advanced surgical robotic systems. Under this agreement, Dornier will distribute Edge Medical’s Multi-Port Robotic Surgery System MP1000 in Spain and Portugal, the pilot regions of the agreement.

The global surgical robotics market is experiencing rapid growth, with increasing demand for high-quality, cutting-edge technology in minimally invasive procedures such as laparoscopy. Robotic-assisted surgery has transformed urology, allowing for greater precision in complex procedures while reducing patient recovery times¹. Currently valued at US$8.08 billion (approximately €7.43 billion) in 2025, the laparoscopic surgical robotic device market is set to double to US$17.34 billion (approximately €15.94 billion) by 2032².
